Backing Up Before You Update

Before installing an OS update or doing a factory reset, back up your pedalboards, banks, and (optionally) device configuration and plugins to a USB stick. It takes a couple of minutes and means an update gone wrong costs you nothing.

Once you've confirmed the update or reset went smoothly, you can restore from that same backup if anything looks off — user pedalboards and banks aren't affected by a normal OS update, but it's cheap insurance regardless, and it's required if you're doing a full factory reset.
