USB Host Devices

The USB Host port (Type-A, USB 2.0, 500mA max output) is where you connect peripherals to the Dwarf — as opposed to the USB-B "computer" port, which is how the Dwarf connects to you.

Typical uses:

  • USB MIDI controllers — keyboards, pad controllers, anything class-compliant.
  • Bluetooth dongle — see Bluetooth.
  • USB flash drive — for backups and restores.

A USB hub works if you need to connect more than one device at a time, though keep in mind everything on the hub draws from the same power budget — see Unboxing & Safety for a note on how peripherals affect power draw.

If a connected MIDI controller isn't recognized, or the device becomes unstable when you plug one in, see Troubleshooting.
